Another hot button issue associated to the subject is the evolution of the Genre and who founded it. Speaking about the genre and how far its come ace Ghanaian rapper and Hiplife artiste Obrafuor joined Host of Hammer Time, Hammer on Pure FM and acknowledged that Reggie Rockstone started a revolution by coining the term Hiplife but however wasn’t the first to rap in Ghana and stated that “Reggie is a revolutionist, he brought some change. Before he came through there were the likes of Talking Drums,Mahony P and some people were already rapping so I won’t say he brought rap to Ghana.”
