At least Eight (8) stores have been burnt into ashes by fire at Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region, Tmmotiongh gathered.
Though, the good news is that no causalities were recorded.
In more detail, the incident occurred at the Oda business district near the Opportunity Savings and Loans Bank in the New Town Zone of Birim Central Municipality.
Properties being offered for sale worth thousands of cedis have been consumed by the fire.
According to the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), thirty-one (31) persons were affected.
Meanwhile, residents alleged that it took the belated intervention of firefighters from Ofoase to douse the fire as the only fire engine in Oda is faulty.
Fire outbreak in the market has been one of the disasters that Ghanaian communities cannot prevent.
